Community

Starlight Family helps to improve the quality of life for disadvantaged and at risk adults and children in the local community through education and practical support. One of our main focuses is to help with health issues by meeting the financial costs of medical treatment and addressing the underlying causes of ill health for example through the provision of mosquito nets to protect against malaria. In 2018 we were able to improve health for the whole local community by supporting the creation of a borehole to provide safe drinking water. Using the school as an adult educational centre we also provide workshops on business, health, finances and agriculture. Through our Teen Girls’ project we educate and counsel adolescent girls about puberty and the health risks of unprotected sex; seeks sponsors for adolescents to continue their education and assist those who are young single parents to become self-supporting.

Help Starlight Family to create a healthy community through educational workshops and business training

Starlight Family is in a good position to help disadvantaged and vulnerable adults in the wider community. In the past we have been able to facilitate health examinations , provide materials and infrastructure to support healthy living and deliver workshops addressing health matters and teach business, craft and agricultural skills. This is an important part of our work which helps us move towards our vision of empowering individuals so that they can create their own brighter future and contribute to the whole community.
