In March 2021 Starlight Family welcomed Dash Meizler from the Podrska Foundation, Kampala Uganda who was invited to come and speak to the directors of Starlight Family on animal rights in Uganda and the health benefits of a plant based diet. Director Lukyamuzi James had previously given up eating meat and keeping pigs as a source of income for the charity as he had become connected to the pigs and did not feel right when they were sold to be slaughtered. After watching documentaries on the exploitation and abuse of animals he felt that his charity should not cause any suffering to any living beings in the course of it’s charity work and was keen that Dash should share his knowledge with the other directors of the charity.
